Years ago when I was a stay at home mom, money was sometimes a bit tight.
One year my mother was still working, so didnt feel like baking a lot.
Everytime I baked cookies, squares or cakes, I doubled the recipe, and froze half. When her birthday came, I had a much appreciated present already for her.
After my kids left home, they really didn't cook home meals too often. For their birthday I made them a coupon book. It included their favorites, and they only needed to give me a weeks notice (if possible) and it was ready for them to take home. It was enough for 5 servings.
