Beach Bag For Christmas
Have you started making your Christmas gifts yet? I thought I would post a quick update on some of what I’ve been making.
A couple of weeks ago, I posted a collection of tutorials on making bags, and there was a lovely reversible beach bag that I thought I would give a go as I’m keen on improving my sewing skills. This is my finished version of the bag.
Mine isn’t reversible, the outer is decorator cotton and the inner some inexpensive plain cotton. I adjusted the pattern so that it would fit the width of the fabric, reducing the amount of fabric that needed to be purchased, adjusted the strap width and length and I added a pocket on the inside and the outside. The outer pocket is fully lined, the handle is double stitched and top-stitched and has interfacing. I chose a pretty expensive fabric for the outer, but all up the bags came in at under $15 each.
What do you think? I think that they turned out quite professional looking. I’ve made two bags for two younger ladies in our family. Soon it will be onto the baking! What are you making for Christmas?
